About the Team
Sattva’s Corporate Advisory business unit works with corporations spanning multiple industries, geographies and priorities. Given the complexity of their operations i.e. multi-location, multi-budget, multi-thematic focus, different business operations, and higher accountability for adherence to CSR law (Section 135 of India's Companies Act), leadership and CSR teams within these corporations are paying closer attention to governance and compliance. We at Sattva have an immense demand driven opportunity to meet this growing focus with specialised consulting services and a suite of compliance products.
Role Summary:
We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Law Graduate to join our in-house legal team. The role will primarily focus on the drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of commercial contracts such as service agreements, consultancy agreements, vendor agreements, master service agreements (MSAs), non-financial MoUs, and intellectual property (IPR) licensing agreements. In addition, the role includes conducting legal research on international laws, and helping to set up and manage a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system for enhanced contract governance. This position is ideal for a recent or early-career legal professional looking to build a foundation in corporate, commercial, and international legal operations within a business-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Drafting & Review
Draft, review, and support negotiation of:
Service Agreements
Consultancy Agreements
Master Services Agreements (MSAs)
Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs)
Vendor Agreements
IPR Licensing Agreements
Ensure that contracts are legally sound, aligned with business needs, and mitigate potential legal risks.
Ensure SLAs are tracked and met. Any risks / exceptions to be highlighted
Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM)
Assist in the evaluation, implementation, and administration of a Contract Lifecycle Management system.
Organize and manage the contract repository; ensure version control and timely renewals/expiry monitoring.
Create and maintain templates, clause libraries, and process checklists.
Legal Research & Advisory
Conduct legal research on international laws, especially in relation to data protection, IP, cross-border service delivery, etc.
Prepare internal legal memos or guidance notes as required.
Stay updated with key regulatory changes affecting commercial and contract law.
Cross-Functional Support
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments (e.g., sales, procurement, HR, finance) to ensure contract alignment.
Support the legal team in maintaining compliance registers, internal policies, and SOPs.
Required Qualifications:
LL.B. degree from a recognized university
1–3 years of relevant legal experience
Key Skills:
Good understanding of commercial contracts and general corporate law
Exposure to or interest in international law and cross-border transactions
Strong legal drafting and research skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
High attention to detail and analytical thinking
Familiarity with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with CLM tools is a plus
Preferred Add-ons:
Exposure to data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, PDPA, etc.)
Basic knowledge of IPR (copyright, trademark, licensing)
Prior experience (internships or job) in an in-house legal team or legal operations
