About India Data Insights (IDI)

India Data Insights (IDI) is Sattva’s public-good initiative that enables social-sector decision-makers to interpret India’s development data at scale. Through curated datasets, analytical insights, and intuitive narratives, IDI provides clarity on India’s socio-economic landscape across health, education, livelihoods, climate, gender, and CSR.

IDI also anchors Sattva’s CSR Centre of Excellence (CSR COE), generating ecosystem-wide insights on CSR capital flows, emerging archetypes, corporate behaviour, and sectoral trends.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Content & Narrative Specialist (Contract: 12 Months) who can translate complex analysis produced by the Data COE into compelling, high-quality written outputs. This role is ideal for someone who loves writing, is deeply comfortable with interpreting data, and can craft strong, insightful, and credible narratives for diverse audiences.

This is a content-heavy role requiring exceptional English writing skills, strong analytical interpretation, and the ability to craft thought leadership, reports, op-eds, media pieces, and platform-ready content. You will work closely with IDI’s data and research teams to shape narratives on India’s CSR ecosystem, development trends, and impact capital flows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Narrative Development & Thought Leadership

  • Convert datasets, dashboards, and analytical outputs from the Data COE into clear, compelling, and insight-led narratives.

  • Develop structured long-form content such as ecosystem reports, thematic briefs, leadership notes, and strategic documents.

  • Shape the narrative direction for CSR COE themes—multi-vector CSR, geography shifts, business–need alignment, evolution of implementing partners, innovation funding, etc.

  • Ensure writing is rigorous, editorially strong, grounded in data, and aligned with Sattva’s voice.

2. External-Facing Writing & Media Content

  • Work closely with the marketing team to execute external publication content with IDI data.

  • Draft content for external channels:

    • op-eds, columns, and articles for media

    • PR narratives, thought pieces, and interviews

    • ecosystem newsletters, whitepapers, and insights

  • Develop scripts and talking points for leadership engagements, podcasts, roundtables, and panels.

  • Create high-quality, publication-ready content with strong impact vocabulary and narrative flow.

3. Data Interpretation & Insight Translation

  • Read, interpret, and distill complex secondary data into simple, high-signal insights.

  • Synthesize data trends into storyline frameworks for reports and visual assets.

  • Work closely with the Data COE to ensure accuracy, nuance, and contextual clarity.

  • Translate quantitative findings into qualitative implications for CSR, philanthropy, and the development ecosystem.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with IDI analysts, CSR COE leads, design team, and marketing/PR teams to produce polished, high-impact outputs.

  • Manage content workflows across multiple stakeholders and timelines.

  • Support internal and external reviews to ensure narrative coherence and editorial quality.

5. Editorial Rigor & Content Quality Assurance

  • Ensure every output adheres to high standards of grammar, structure, logic, and flow.

  • Maintain consistency in tone, terminology, and insight integrity across all deliverables.

  • Conduct final editorial checks for accuracy, clarity, and impact.
