About Sustainability and Business Advisory

Our Sustainability and Business Advisory unit partners with Corporates and Funders to design and implement strategic interventions that support their sustainability goals. We craft focused strategies and forward-looking action plans, grounded in rigorous research and data-driven insights, to enable a meaningful transition towards net zero.

About the role:

This role focuses on supporting organizations in strengthening their sustainability positioning through end-to-end sustainability reporting, ESG research, strategic communication, and capacity-building initiatives. The selected candidate will contribute to the development of GRI and BRSR-aligned sustainability reports, translate ESG insights into stakeholder-facing communication assets, support customized training module design, and advance research frameworks for leadership-level decision-making. The role requires a blend of ESG understanding, structured content development, and project coordination skills, with opportunities to work closely with client teams and senior stakeholders across sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sustainability Report Development

  • Work closely with senior client stakeholders (e.g., sustainability leaders, strategy and leadership teams) to define reporting objectives, scope, structure, and disclosure priorities based on organizational context and maturity.

  • Lead and support the development of sustainability and ESG reports aligned with applicable frameworks such as GRI, BRSR, and other relevant standards, including narratives, key indicators, disclosures, and supporting documentation.

  • Manage and coordinate ESG data collection and validation processes, working across functions to interpret data and support credible, consistent disclosures.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners (including design and assurance stakeholders where relevant) to enable timely, accurate, and high‑quality reporting outcomes across the reporting lifecycle.

2. ESG Communication & Content Development

  • Support the development of stakeholder‑specific ESG messaging and communication approaches, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals, reporting disclosures, and overall organizational positioning.

  • Translate sustainability report outputs and broader ESG insights into clear and engaging communication assets across digital and offline platforms, including web content, presentations, social media, newsletters, and other formats as required.

  • Provide strategic input and execution support to ensure ESG communication initiatives are coherent, effective, and aligned with organizational commitments and timelines.

3. ESG Training & Capacity Building

  • Design and develop ESG training and awareness modules tailored to client industry contexts, value chains, and ESG maturity levels, adapting content for leadership, managerial, and operational audiences.

  • Translate ESG frameworks, regulatory expectations, and sustainability themes into practical business implications, operational considerations, and risk/opportunity perspectives.

  • Support the design and delivery of structured learning journeys and engagement formats to build internal understanding, ownership, and integration of ESG priorities.

4. ESG Research & Framework Development

  • Lead and contribute to ESG research and analytical assignments, aligned with client requirements, regulatory developments, and emerging sustainability trends.

  • Strengthen and refine internal research methodologies, tools, and analytical frameworks to support sustainability strategy and advisory engagements.

  • Synthesize research outputs into clear, insight‑driven, decision‑oriented materials for senior and leadership‑level stakeholders.

  • Provide guidance, review, and mentoring support to junior team members, contributing to capability building and consistency of analytical outputs.

Role Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in sustainability, ESG, corporate reporting, advisory, research, or allied domains, preferably in client‑facing or cross‑functional environments.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting sustainability reporting and ESG disclosures, with working familiarity of frameworks such as GRI, BRSR, or comparable standards.

  • Experience contributing to or developing ESG training and capacity‑building modules, with the ability to adapt content for different stakeholder groups and organizational contexts.

  • Strong research, analytical, and data‑handling skills, including comfort working with ESG data, indicators, and qualitative narratives, supported by working knowledge of Excel.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience creating clear, structured outputs such as reports, presentations, training material, and other ESG‑related content for diverse audiences; preference for experience developing multi‑platform ESG communication assets.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating ownership, attention to detail, and adaptability.

  • Speaking proficiency in the Kannada language is preferred.
