Climate Practice

Sattva’s Climate Practice partners with corporates, philanthropists, foundations, multilaterals, governments and social enterprises to strengthen climate resilience, accelerate decarbonisation and energy transitions, advance circularity and sustainable infrastructure, and champion community-centred climate justice. The practice’s work spans decarbonisation and energy transitions, circularity and material value chains, infrastructure and resilience, heat, water and vertical climate solutions, and climate justice – underpinned by a cross-cutting focus on climate finance.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Lead to anchor and grow Sattva’s Climate Practice. This is a senior leadership role for someone with strong conceptual understanding of climate issues and a market-oriented mindset, who can shape the practice’s strategic agenda, deepen institutional expertise across climate domains, build trusted relationships with senior influencers across the climate ecosystem, and enable teams and clients to deliver high-impact climate solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Climate Leadership & Portfolio Management

  • Join the Climate Practice leadership team, shaping the long-term agenda across decarbonisation, energy transitions, circularity, resilience, climate justice and finance, and supporting the growth of the business across corporate, philanthropic, multilateral and government markets.

  • Provide strategic oversight of the practice’s portfolio of engagements, guiding solution design and delivery – including climate risk assessments, decarbonisation strategies, circularity models, blended finance structures and community-led climate action pathways.

  • Bring deep sector expertise to guide project teams in interpreting climate science, policy frameworks, emissions pathways and resilience strategies, serving as the climate expert in the room for large-scale and complex engagements.

  • Identify emerging themes – such as nature-based solutions, green hydrogen, resilience infrastructure and Scope 3 shifts – and establish benchmarks, frameworks and tools that strengthen Sattva’s climate capability and market positioning.

Partnerships & External Representation

  • Build and deepen relationships and relational equity with senior influencers and decision-makers across the climate ecosystem – global and policy bodies (G20, COP processes, UNFCCC-linked organisations and multilaterals such as ADB), philanthropic funders, industry, investors and commercial actors, and NGOs and community-based organisations.

  • Represent Sattva’s work at national and global forums, policy dialogues and working groups, contributing external-facing thought leadership to position Sattva as a credible climate partner.

  • Host and lead sector convenings, roundtables and ecosystem engagements, and support business development by shaping proposals, strengthening technical narratives and identifying market opportunities.

Team & Client Management

  • Build, mentor and manage a multidisciplinary climate team across strategy, modelling, policy, science, ecosystem mobilisation and programme delivery.

  • Develop, manage and grow relationships with clients and key stakeholders, advising senior client leaders on climate risk, decarbonisation levers, community resilience, carbon markets and sustainable infrastructure, and taking overall accountability for client success.

  • Ensure strong project management, financial oversight and overall profitability across the practice’s portfolio of engagements.

Qualifications and Experience

At Sattva, our goal is to realise impact on the ground and drive a collective win by engaging with multiple stakeholders. We are looking for individuals who align with our mission of alleviating poverty in our lifetime and have the following profile:

  • Typically 12–18 years of experience in climate action, sustainability, decarbonisation, climate policy, ESG, adaptation, circularity or related domains, with flexibility for exceptional candidates on either side.

  • Proven expertise in designing or guiding climate programmes across mitigation, adaptation, resilience or circularity.

  • Strong theoretical grounding in climate science or policy combined with a market- and sales-oriented mindset.

  • Experience working with government bodies, multilaterals, corporates, philanthropic funders and NGOs.

  • Ability to translate climate insights into market-relevant, context-specific solutions and to influence senior ecosystem actors.

  • Strong commercial orientation, with the ability to identify opportunities, shape proposals and support sales efforts.

  • Excellent communication, synthesis and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Self-driven, high-energy and entrepreneurial, with the ability to build and grow a practice area.
