About Non-profit Advisory


One of the core areas of focus for Sattva is strengthening nonprofits and social enterprises through a hands-on approach, to help orbit-shifting scale and impact. In the last ten years, Sattva has enabled over 500 organisations to create impact at scale. Within Sattva, the Non-profit advisory vertical aims to enable aspirational organisations create impact at scale. The vertical provides services across three levels; First, the vertical helps build overall strategic clarity through various offerings, such as organisational strategy, new market entry, and retained advisory. Second, through program enablement offerings, the team assesses program readiness and designs pathways and solutions to pilot and scale programs. Third, via institutional building activities such as Monitoring and Evaluation, Fundraising Strategy, Organisational Design, and Talent Advisory, the vertical strategically builds organisational, financial, and legal structures appropriate to achieve objectives and aligned with the vision.  In practice, the team keeps evolving its support to nonprofits based on the changing needs on the ground and from communities across all sectors.


The Opportunity


The Consultant will play a vital role in our Non-profit Advisory team, forming strong connections with clients and collaborating closely with various teams to provide effective solutions that make a big difference in communities. They'll tackle problems using established consulting methods and research techniques. This involves carefully examining provided data and talking to key people involved in the project to understand their perspectives. This approach helps them gain a wide-ranging understanding of different industries and regions, while focusing on the main goals of each project.


The Consultant's responsibilities include:

  • Lead multiple tracks in a large-scale project independently 

  • Produce client-ready deliverables - strategy decks, project reports, governance reports, etc

  • Provide execution/ operational guidance and cover to associate/ analyst on the project - across research, framework development, and portfolio management

  • Drive all client and stakeholder communication and ensure clarity and quality

  • Identify and mitigate key project risks in consultation with the project lead

  • Responsible for first-level project planning and governance to ensure work streams/ tracks are well-managed

  • Lead smaller delivery projects independently


The Ideal Candidate:

  • 4-6 years of consulting experience, preferably with a postgraduate degree in business management.

  • Efficient in time and quality management, adept at prioritizing tasks and maintaining high standards for the timely delivery of quality work.

  • Shows exceptional written communication skills, producing clear, concise, and accurate materials with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Proficient in delivering compelling presentations, using persuasive techniques and storytelling to convey complex information.

  • Skilled in data analysis, proficient in collecting and analyzing data using various tools, and adept at presenting findings visually for decision-making.

  • Demonstrates advanced research skills, utilizing diverse methodologies to gather and present insights aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Shows strong problem-solving skills, using analytical thinking, creativity, and strategic decision-making to contribute to project success.

  • Demonstrates effective client management, fostering positive relationships, understanding needs, and delivering quality service for satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Skilled in internal collaboration and people management, fostering teamwork, open communication, and effective delegation to achieve goals.

  • Strong verbal communicator, articulating ideas clearly, persuasively, and empathetically to foster effective dialogue internally and externally.

  • Expert in organizational development, enhancing effectiveness, fostering positive culture, and driving continuous improvement for higher efficiency, productivity, and employee satisfaction.

  • Expert in Education, Skilling, Agriculture, and Health, driving impactful strategies in these sectors.
