About the Team
Foundations team collaborates with a network of global philanthropic foundations, alongside multilateral aid agencies, aiming to inform, influence, and profoundly impact social and environmental outcomes resulting from their investments in diverse sectors such as education, child development, gender, health, and more. Our primary focus is on catalysing ecosystem transformation by rigorously solving problems, formulating strategic solutions which are logically sound, effective on the ground and ensuring all stakeholders are effectively engaged while their interests are covered.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Communications & Outreach professional to lead stakeholder engagement, communications strategy, and collateral development for a national-level government platform. This role involves close collaboration with senior officials across central and state governments, requiring a blend of strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and visual storytelling. The ideal candidate will bring in rich experience in government consulting and communication design, with a strong grasp of how to engage diverse stakeholders through high-impact presentations, visual material, and curated convenings.
Key responsibilities
Communications & Platform Adoption Strategy
-- Liaise directly with senior government stakeholders and partners to co-develop communication strategy and at-scale adoption plans for the digital platform.
-- Lead communication and outreach efforts for the program and the digital platform; Design and execute strategic outreach plans that are tailored for both central and state government functionaries.
Content & Collateral Development
-- Create high-quality, visually compelling communication materials (e.g., presentations, briefs, toolkits, social media snippets) using tools like PowerPoint, Canva, and others.
-- Translate complex information into clear, engaging, and action-oriented formats suited for government stakeholders.
Events & Convenings
-- Conceptualize and manage workshops, webinars, and on-ground events in partnership with government stakeholders.
-- Prepare and execute event related collaterals (agenda, invites, background notes, collateral) and drive seamless execution.
Project Management
-- Proactively take ownership of delivery.
-- Develop and execute a project plan from inception for complex projects; establish and maintain an effective governance routine to monitor progress.
-- Identify critical project milestones and manage resource allocation accordingly to ensure timely project outcomes.
-- Independently predict and manage short- and long-term project risks; ensure timely mitigation with the support of the engagement manager and senior leadership.
-- Provide adequate support and guidance to junior team members and peers; create a collaborative culture within the team
Stakeholder Engagement
-- Establish credibility with senior management within the client organisation by building a thorough understanding of the organisation, prioritised sectors, and enabling timely project delivery.
-- Establish frequent and effective communication channels with the client and other key stakeholders involved in the project.
Key qualifications and experiences
-- 6-8 years of experience in communications and marketing, government consulting, or public policy, with a proven track record of leading outreach or stakeholder initiatives.
-- Postgraduate degree in communications, development communications, public policy or a related field.
-- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; working proficiency in Hindi preferred.
-- Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Canva, Photoshop, and/or other visual design/collateral development tools.
-- Strong organizational and program management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
-- Prior experience working with senior bureaucrats, ministries, or multi-stakeholder governance projects is essential.
-- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, structure, and deliver high-stakes communication with attention to detail.
-- A proactive, self-starter attitude with a high level of ownership, humility and drive.
